CMS Leadership Academy main role will be providing opportunities for youth who are not be in employment,  education or training with a meaningful progression to become a sports coach. We will provide an opportunity, a platform for young people to achieving their potential. Using sport as the driver we aim to improve the skill levels of the young people on our program, building their confidence, improving their social well being. The skills they will learn through our programme will provide the necessary skills for the young people  allowing them to find sustainable employment.

The CMS Leadership Academy will work closely with youth organisations, sports clubs, local authorities and other community groups who would identify young people who would benefit from our modules which we can deliver. Our role will be to build the bridges to gain the confidence of the young people enabling them to become not only great coaches but well rounded individuals through specific training..

Not only will the young people work alongside the coaches but they will also have the opportunity to work in the office on social media, marketing or performing administrative duties.

As part of our Leadership Academy program the MSL Certification will be offered to all participants plus we will be offering additional Education Through CashBack (ETC) Modules where required and appropriate.

Education Through CashBack (ETC) is a national Scottish Sports Futures programme; developed in partnership with Scottish Sports Futures, that aims to enhance sports coaches, youth workers and volunteers understanding of personal development through sport.


Six of the ETC modules are now SCQF accredited at levels 4 (Communication) and 5 (Working with Young People, Benefits of Physical Activity, Human Connection, Goal Setting and Conflict Resolution)
